Sherry Fry is an author-illustrator who creates playful, inclusive stories rooted in connection and curiosity. Her illustrations combine hand-crafted textures and digital techniques to create artwork that feels tactile, bright, and joyfully imperfect.
Her debut picture book, Hello at the Farm, was independently published and reimagines the familiar animal sounds found in children’s books through physical action, offering an engaging read-aloud experience that welcomes non-speaking children. Sherry is passionate about creating books that make space for all kinds of kids, especially those who may feel misunderstood, underestimated, or wonderfully different.
When she is not sketching new characters or dreaming up new stories, some heartfelt and some humorous, she teaches visual art and mentors emerging creatives. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two sons.
Her illustration work has been licensed by brands including PicCollage and Minted, and she was selected as one of eight artists for a special edition Bounty paper towel collection in partnership with Brit + Co. She has also worked as an in-house designer for Discovery Inc., contributing to brands such as TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, and Science Channel.
